Engineering at Mainframe

Our tech stack is TypeScript, React, Next.js, Vercel, and Convex.

The Role

As an engineer at Mainframe, you will be responsible for building our core AI-driven products. You’ll work closely with the rest of the team to design scalable, reliable systems that enable seamless AI interactions and enhance user experiences. Your work will directly impact how users engage with our tools and will be foundational in helping Mainframe scale to support more advanced AI functionalities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable services to support AI-driven applications
• Build performant and reliable storage and retrieval systems
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to build seamless, cohesive products
• Continuously improve system architecture, leveraging best practices in your craft

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with a strong focus on building scalable products
• Proficiency in a programming language and corresponding web framework
• Strong understanding of datastores (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redis)
• Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems
• Familiarity with vector databases (e.g. pinecone, pgvector)
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment
